Tracey Browning

I began playing basketball at 7 years of age with Melbourne Telstars and have been involved as a player or administrator / event organizer for around 40 years.

After several Victorian Junior State Teams I received a scholarship to the AIS.

Following that was a 14year career in the WNBL where I played 283 games for Coburg, Nunawading and Dandenong , winning 5 WNBL titles and was inducted as one of the first 13 WNBL Life Members.

I represented the Opals at the 1990 World Championships in Malaysia and was also inducted into the the Nunawading and Coburg Basketball Hall of Fames.

I am the current President of the Tommy Hafey Club at the Richmond Football club, and also run my own Events company specializing in sporting, corporate and large community events.

I am excited and very passionate about the sport of basketball and where Australia currently sit on the world stage and am looking forward to this business journey with great friends and ex team mates Michelle and Mandy who are equally as passionate about basketball and all sports.

My passion for basketball began at a very young age.  In my junior years I represented Dandenong Rangers at representative level.  During this time, I played for 4 Vic Metro teams, won a scholarship to the AIS and won a bronze medal with the Australian U/21 team at the World Championships in Spain.  I also played WNBL for the Nunawading Spectres and the Dandenong Rangers.  Recently I was named as one of the Top 25 Players in 25 Years for the Dandenong Rangers.

After retiring and having 2 children, my passion for fitness continued and I studied to become a Bikram Yoga teacher and a Power HIIT Hot Pilates teacher.  I currently teach at Hot House Yoga & Pilates in Eltham.  I am also a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist.

I am currently still involved in basketball on a variety of levels.  I commentate for the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL and I have recently had success as a basketball coach gaining selection to coach the Vic Metro U/20 women at Nationals in Canberra.  I therefore feel that I understand the needs and wants of coaches in sport.

I’m very excited to be joining my 2 former team mates and friends, Mandy Buchanan and Tracey Browning in producing our quality products.
